AI Connectors (BYOAI)

With BYOAI (Bring Your Own AI) you connect your own AI access to arkmetis. This lets you use all AI features without limits – you pay the costs directly to the provider.

Requirements

AI Connectors are available from the Starter plan onwards. On the free tier, you use the platform key with credit consumption.

Setting Up a Connector

1. Open Settings → AI Connectors in your project
2. Click "Create New Connector"
3. Fill in the fields:
   • Name – A descriptive name (e.g. "My OpenRouter")
   • Type – Which provider?
     • OpenRouter – Recommended, supports many models
     • OpenAI-compatible – Any OpenAI-compatible endpoint
     • Ollama – Local AI models
     • Custom – Custom endpoint
   • Base URL – Automatically set for known types
   • API Key – Your API key (optional for Ollama)
   • Default Model – Which model should be used?
4. Click "Save"

Verifying a Connector

After creating, you can verify the connector:

• Click "Verify" next to the connector
• arkmetis tests the connection and shows available models
• On success: Green "Verified" badge
• On error: Error message with details

Default Connector

One connector per team can be set as default. This one is used for all AI operations:

• Click "Set as Default" next to the desired connector
• The previous default connector loses its status automatically

Editing a Connector

• Click "Edit" to change name, URL, API key, or model
• The API key is displayed masked (only the last 4 characters visible)
• After changes, you should verify again

Deleting a Connector

• Click "Delete" and confirm
• If it was the default connector, you need to set a new default
