SEO Analysis
The SEO module gives you a deep look into the technical search engine optimization of your website. It focuses on what Google (and other search engines) see when they visit your pages.
Overview
The SEO overview shows:
- Current Score (0-100) – How well does the website perform technically?
- Issue Summary – Critical issues, warnings, and notices at a glance
- Crawl Status – Is a crawl currently running? How far along is it?
- Score Trend – Development over previous crawls
Page View
The page list shows all crawled pages with pagination. Click on a page for the detail view:
- Meta Tags – Title, description, robots, canonical
- Heading Structure – H1-H6 hierarchy (skipped levels are flagged)
- Links – Internal and external links, broken links
- Structured Data – All Schema.org entries found
- Issues – All problems on this page
Starting a Crawl
A crawl costs 1 credit and checks up to 500 pages:
- Click "Start Crawl"
- arkmetis begins at the homepage and follows internal links
- You can see the progress in real time (pages found / crawled)
- Once complete, all scores are updated
robots.txt is respected. arkmetis follows your website's rules and crawls a maximum of 2 pages per second, keeping the load gentle on any server.
Canceling a Crawl
Taking too long? You can stop a running crawl at any time. Pages already crawled are preserved.
Adding a Page Manually
Not every page is discovered automatically (e.g. orphan pages without internal links). You can add URLs manually:
- Click "Add Page"
- Enter the URL (must match the domain)
- Optional: Crawl immediately
Page Classification
arkmetis automatically detects the type and priority of every crawled page:
Page Types: Homepage, Page, Blog Post, Product, Category, Landing Page, Portfolio, Legal Page, Utility Page, Tag Page, and more – 14 types in total.
Priority Levels:
- Very High – Homepage, critical pages
- High – Main pages, categories
- Medium – Blog posts, products
- Low – Tags, archives
- Ignore – Legal pages, error pages, utility pages
Classification is based on URL patterns, Schema.org data, and content heuristics. You can always override the automatic assignment manually.
Why it matters: Classification enables targeted filtering in the page list – e.g., "Show me only product pages with high priority."
Page Browser
On every page detail view (SEO, A11y, PageSpeed, Optimizer), you will find the Page Browser – an intelligent page navigator:
- Prev/Next navigation between pages without returning to the overview
- Search by URL or page title
- Filter by page type, priority, and workflow status
- Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+← and Alt+→ for quick browsing
- SEO score badges next to each page for instant overview
Bulk Meta Generator
Instead of optimizing each page individually, the Bulk Meta Generator creates AI-powered titles and descriptions for multiple pages at once:
- Filter the page list (e.g., all product pages without a meta description)
- Select the desired pages
- Click "Generate Meta"
- The AI creates optimized suggestions in the background
- Review each suggestion and mark it as "Implemented" or "Dismissed"
Progress is shown in real time and persists across page reloads.
Score History
arkmetis saves a score snapshot after every crawl, including:
- Overall score and category scores (Technical, On-page, Content, Performance, Security)
- Issue count per severity
- Number of pages crawled
This lets you see at a glance whether your SEO work is paying off – and you can show the progress in client reports.
Understanding Issues
SEO issues are categorized into three severity levels:
- Critical – Must be fixed immediately (e.g. missing title, duplicate H1)
- Warning – Should be fixed (e.g. title too long, missing meta description)
- Notice – Nice-to-have (e.g. missing alt text on decorative images)
