Competitor Analysis

How do you stack up against the competition? The competitor analysis combines sitemap comparison, AI visibility, discovery files, content intelligence, and page-level analysis in one dashboard.

Workflow

The analysis follows four steps, displayed as a progress indicator at the top:

  1. Add competitors – Manually or via AI suggestions
  2. Fetch sitemaps – Automatically for all competitors
  3. Compare & scan pages – Start batch analysis
  4. Analyze results – Review insights

The module is organized into five tabs:

Manage

Add and remove competitors here:

  • Add manually – Enter a domain
  • AI suggestions – arkmetis suggests relevant competitors based on your industry and target audience (costs 1 credit)
  • Track up to 5 competitors simultaneously

Sitemap

Page structure comparison:

  • arkmetis automatically fetches sitemaps for all competitors
  • Pages you have that competitors don't – Your advantage
  • Pages competitors have that you don't – Your gaps
  • AI Analysis – Analyzes structural differences with recommendations (costs 1 credit, cached 24h)

Discovery Files

Comparison of AI-relevant files:

  • robots.txt – Who blocks which crawlers?
  • ai.txt – Who has an AI description?
  • llms.txt – Who is optimized for LLMs?
  • Your own discovery files are also displayed
  • AI Analysis – Compares your files against competitors' (costs 1 credit, cached 24h)

Content Intelligence

Detailed page-level comparison:

  • Batch scan – Analyze all competitor pages at once
  • Individual page analysis – Scan specific pages on demand
  • Per page analyzed: Meta title/description, word count, LIX score (readability), content score, GEO readiness, Q&A structure, statistics, citations
  • Side-by-side comparison – Your pages vs. competitor pages
  • Screenshots – Desktop screenshots for visual comparison (cached 24h)

Tip: Batch scans run in the background. You can leave the page – results appear automatically once the jobs complete.

Mentions

AI visibility comparison:

  • Your GEO Score – Your current AI visibility average
  • Per competitor: Total mentions + sentiment distribution (positive/neutral/negative)
  • Click on a competitor for details:
    • Which AI responses mention them
    • Which prompt triggered the mention
    • How it compares to your own mentions

Prerequisite: You need at least one active GEO tracking prompt for the mentions comparison to work.
